England got off to a solid start against Australia’s seam bowling attack as hosts clearly felt the need for their star bowler Mitchell Starc. With the absence of the left-armer, the Aussies attack looked a little bit flat and Mark Stoneman and Alastair Cook easily played off the early onslaught from seamers. But Stoneman, who has been in good form this series, failed to understand the spin offered by Nathan Lyon and gave away an easy wicket in his first over. He departed on 15 but right-handed batsman James Vince took off from where he left. Cook and Vince added another 37 runs before Tea and ensured that they do not lose another wicket. Australia are currently trailing 255 runs behind England.
